A STRANGE AMALGAMATION

Having an engineer as a father and a creative as a mother, I inherited equal doses of both. My approach to my work like an engineer: considering all of the things that make the subject what it is, then showcasing those details with my creativity.

ALWAYS THE STUDENT

I grew up with pencils and pens on paper.  I still do my best work with paper and a pencil.  But I have also become a wiz with photoshop and illustrator.  Embracing these tools has helped me stay relevant as the industry rockets forward. I have always enjoyed observing and drawing people. Every project I get to work on involving people keeps me motivated.

My favorite traditional mediums are pencil, ink (brush or pen), markers, watercolor, acrylic, and colored pencils.  Having taught concept art at Full Sail University, I employ a wide variety of approaches in my artwork.

EXPERIENCE IS KING

Through the years, I've seen it all: Small batch small printing, mass production for small items, large format printing, fast paced environments, fast turn arounds, trade shows, mobile kitchens, book publishing from top to bottom, marketing campaigns both print and digital, you name it, I've probably had a hand in it at some point. Knowing the industry is important, but what sets me apart is my knowledge and experience in traditional art. because of this, I approach all of my work with the elements of art and principles of design at the forefront of my mind. It allows me to say to all of my clients, "I can get them to [pick up your book][walk to your booth][etc], it's up to you to keep them," and I haven't had a client yet tell me that my work has failed them.

If you like what you see, please contact me!  I am looking for full time work as well as freelance work.
